Actor Nargis Fakhri made a splash in Bollywood with Rockstar. Here she lists her favourite spots of the capital she fell in love with during the making of the film.

I just got lucky that my first movie experience began in Delhi. It is such a handsome city, with the wealth of history and power behind it. I fell in love with the big city lights and got around quite a bit.

Janpath I absolutely love street shopping. Little flea markets are my first stop when I go to a new city or country as they best exude the vibe and culture of the city. Janpath was a blast, I spent three hours here and bought the most amazing jewellery.

North Campus A number of scenes in Rockstar was filmed in this academic area. The place is bustling with youthful energy and vibe. It’s the university area and yet there is a vintage feel to it. And best of all, it is also located in a beautiful part of Delhi. It’s very green and the students there make the entire ambience very chilled out and fun.

Dilli Haat A friend from the filming crew took me to visit this crafts market set in the open. I loved getting a chance to explore the local handicrafts all in one go. The food there is amazing and you can enjoy sampling dishes from various parts of India besides little tea and coffee and snacking stalls. I spent hours there simply people-watching because come summer or winter Delhi’s folks dress up very well. The colour and the way they layer their clothing gives their street fashion an edge.
