If you have imbibed enough of the Indian flavour of tourism then it might be time to give wings to your travel and fly overseas. Take the air route to any of these international destinations worth travelling this season.

Cuba

Cuba is a country of indefinable magic. One can wave a goodbye to everyday assumptions and expect the most unexpected to happen. The atmosphere and architecture is particularly stirring in Havana, Trinidad, Remedios and Camagüey where grandiose squares and cobbled streets tell erstwhile tales of opulence and intrigue. A majority of tourists stick to the attractive arcs of white sand beaches, but there is a lot to explore deep inside the land of forests and crocodile-infested swamps.

Tokyo

Yoking past and future, Tokyo dazzles with its traditional culture and passion for all things new. The country boasts of everything from sci-fi cityscapes, admirable architecture, giant fashion brands and fine dine restaurants to the famous cherry blossom festival of sakura. Stand atop one of Tokyo’s skyscrapers and look out over the city at night to see it blinking like the control panel of a starship, stretching all the way to the horizon. In older neighbourhoods you can shop for handicrafts made just as they have been for centuries. Those with a ticking taste bud can satiate it here as Japan offers delicious dishes to indulge in.

Florida

Florida is a blend of a hundred worlds – from magical kingdoms and Latin American and Caribbean capitals to mangrove islands, wild wetlands and artist colonies- all are contained within this flat peninsula. One can stroll on the beaches which are as fine as powdered sugar, or explore the semitropical wilderness, or even paddle a kayak over the back of a sleeping Jurassic-era alligator, and meet loggerheads and manatees underwater, eye to eye.
