While there are several reasons to explore the seven emirates of the UAE, the light festival in Sharjah has its own charm in the month of February as it attracts tourists like nothing else. Continuing over a period of eleven days, the festival is a perfect blend of traditional and modern cultures of the country.

Rightly called the cultural capital of UAE, Sharjah, this year, attracted 1.2 million tourists as a result of the festival which began on 6th February and concluded with a grand closing ceremony on 16th February. The art of video mapping, laser and pyrotechnics ruled the city for these 11 days at multiple venues including mosques and government buildings.

A lot of time and effort goes into preparation of the annual festival, and as told by Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, preparations for the next year have already begun.
