From our Editor: Time to celebrate 10 times over!

This February 2019 issue marks the beginning of our 10th anniversary year. And what a 10 years it has been! When Vardhan and I stepped across the corridors from Top Gear and Femina respectively to put together a new magazine for Worldwide Media, little did we know what a challenge and a joy it would be.

Over the years, Lonely Planet Magazine India has had a host of talent on staff, and each of them has brought their own magic to its pages and its events. The current editorial team is an A-team literally – with Amit, Amrita, Aurelia and Aishwarya, given colour (and some intriguing vibes) by Mahesh and Krishna in design, all of us held together in so many ways by the inimitable Lalitha. Each of us lives to travel, always ready to drop everything to discover something new about the planet (no surprises there!) and ever willing to sample something of the global smorgasbord each day throws up – and yes, we are talking about food as well :).

In this, our 10th anniversary issue, we renew our commitment to bringing you the best and brightest the world has to offer. On The Hot List menu is a perfect trip through parts of Croatia not usually visited, the Serengeti in all its glory, and summery things to do in the Lake Geneva region in Switzerland. Closer home, Sarah Todd shares her favourite spots in Goa, and we know no fire will keep her own baby, Antares, from rising from the ashes like a phoenix after a January fire.

And that’s just the beginning of an exciting 10th anniversary year; we hope this year to have exciting contests, giveaways and interactions with you, our fellow travellers, so that, whether the sun is shining or we’re making the most of the rain, we’re on our journeys of discovery together. Thank you for travelling with us for 10 years; here’s to many more happy and travel-filled decades to come!
