ROLLING ON THE RIVER, Hôi An, Vietnam: We spent the day traipsing around the brightly-coloured buildings of Hôi An, stealing shade in coffee houses and slurping Vietnamese noodle soup. As night fell, we watched the riverside burst with colour. The streets were lined with food sellers, with lanterns linking every alley way. The river reflected these floating lights, further illuminating the area. After wishing away a candle on the Thu Bon River, we cycled back to our hotel.

BEAR NECESSITIES, Svalbard, Norway: Polar bears, or ice bears, are among the largest bears in the world. As global warming threatens their Arctic habitat, we need to ensure that this vulnerable species has a safe and secure home. My expedition to the Svalbard archipelago, to the north of Norway, was a unique and rewarding experience. I had the privilege of spending time with this gorgeous female polar bear from afar, amid the frozen landscape of the Arctic Ocean, one of the few pristine places left on planet earth.

CASTING CALL Kochi, Kerala: We reached Kochi in the afternoon and decided to explore the place. Our first stop was the backwaters. We got on a motor boat and navigated through the mangroves, palm-fringed lakes and canals and noticed small reclaimed islands, inhabited by fishermen. The backwaters are a chain of lagoons and lakes that are part of Vembanad Lake, the longest lake in India and the largest in Kerala. Our boating experience was quite pleasant with postcard-worthy frames all around. This one proved to be my personal favourite.
