Fair feather friends: I was on a weekend trip to Bhigwan, 120km from Pune, to photograph flamingos as they begin arriving by November for their annual migration. We hoped to shoot them in the magical early-morning light, but torrential rains the previous evening before meant that the morning was overcast with hardly any light. Disappointed, we still took a chance as we had come all the way only to photograph these flamingos. I was surprised with the result: the mist created a perfect backdrop to this little flock.
